WerkMaster™ Shines at 2013 World of Concrete
This year’s WOC enjoyed a very positive vibe, especially pertaining to concrete polishing, surface preparation and the continued interest in decorative concrete.
Those attending were very upbeat about the outlook for 2013. The Las Vegas show saw 28 grinding manufacturers represented, many of these being new entries from Asia.
In terms of new products, one of the favorites was Lavina’s new remote controlled grinder. George [last name] was like a kid with a new toy, and couldn’t wipe the smile off of his face.
This year introduced the XT series of grinder/polishers, having updated the Termite, Viper and the Colossos XT standing for Xtra Torque (Titan XT to be launched this month). Klindex introduced their upgraded 32˝ planetary while Aztec introduced their new, heavy-duty propane burnisher now fabricated from steel for heavier down pressure.
As usual, this year’s demo slabs were challenging to polish, what with all the accelerators and polymers. Some manufacturers ground wet, some dry, while others used both a wet/dry process. Some enhanced the shine of their floors chemically by using sealers and burnishers, while others delivered a true mechanical polish. The results were telling. Husqvarna had a very interesting floor that included large nuts and bolts.
This year also saw the debut of Braxton-Bragg who attended the WOC for the first time. Known for their excellent sales, service and support for the stone industry, they are expanding into the concrete polishing and surface preparation arena with both Lavina and WerkMaster products. They enjoyed the show so much they have already booked their booth for 2014.
There was a lot of support for the CPAA with many vendors and manufacturers displaying their new magazine and promoting their membership. The ICPSC Luncheon was well attended and once again the team were on point with their agenda topics.
WerkMaster has uploaded an excellent video from their booth to their website. Including results of their mechanical polishing demo, where they achieved an impressive gloss meter rating of 77. To view, visit http://www.werkmaster.com/concrete/concrete-videos/349.html
