This project used hybrid and achromatic tooling to produce a brilliant shine in just four steps, from 50 to 400 grit, with no metal polishing wheels needed.WerkMaster has a noteworthy project to share with Slippery Rock readers. In late January we received a series of photos documenting a floor polishing project using a WerkMaster Titan equipped with hybrid and achromatic tooling. The results obtained were by an operator using a WerkMaster Titan XT machine for the first time on a very hard and difficult to polish floor.

Brian Wilson, President of WerkMaster commented, “It is becoming more common to find floors that are reading 8 to 9 on the MOHS Scale. As most of you know, the harder the floor, the longer it takes to polish when using conventional tooling and steps.

“What is exciting is that excellent results were achieved very quickly without using metal bond diamonds which can create tool marks that can be difficult and laborious to remove. The floor was polished under very difficult time constraints for a very large and important client.”

Needless to say, the client was thrilled with the results. The photos show the steps leading to the completed project

This floor was polished in 4 STEPS without the use of metal bond tooling using a TITAN XT machine.

Step 1 - 50 Grit Hybrid

Step 2 - 100 Grit Achromic

Step 3 - 200 Grit Achromic

Step 4 - 400 Grit Professional

The contractor was very impressed with performance, ease of use, edging ability, how quickly the job was completed,  and the results. The operator has over 7 years’ experience  grinding and polishing concrete for one of the largest concrete polishing companies in North America. The company owns over 120 planetary machines.

It is a real testimony to the overall ability of WerkMaster’s determination to produce systems that deliver exceptional results while reducing labor costs and increasing profits.
