Todd Johnson Is the Newest Braxton-Bragg Salesman
Braxton-Bragg salesman Todd Johnson brings the work ethic and drive of a 24-year-long military career to his new job.
Johnson retired from the U.S. Navy at the rank of chief petty officer on April 1 and began working for Braxton-Bragg on Nov. 17. Asked what he brought from his military career to his new position, he said “Zeal, integrity, honesty, leadership, and tenacity.”
Veterans bring good things with them to the civilian workforce, Johnson said. “Folks that have come out of the military just know what good a work ethic is. We know how to treat people and work together. We understand how to take direction, and we can work without direction. We just make it happen.”
Braxton-Bragg focuses on building relationships over the long run, Johnson said. “We actually care about our customers and want their business for life — not just a day. You really just have to listen to customers. This company is based on integrity and as long as it’s good for the customer that’s all that matters. If it makes sense, make it happen.”
The company brought another veteran on board as a salesman earlier in the year, and that’s where Johnson learned of Braxton-Bragg. “I always say it’s the Lord that brought me here, but a friend of mine said there was an opening,” he said. “He said it’s great, it’s awesome, and you’ve got to come work here. So I sent a resume, they interviewed me, and hired me the next day.”
When not working, Johnson enjoys home life with his wife and three children. “I help my wife, I spend time with my kids, and we play games or watch movies or go play soccer. We’re a big soccer family.”
An avid woodworker, Johnson said his carpentry skills have helped him better understand the stone industry. “We use the same tools basically — just one grinds and one cuts. There is a neat parallel there.”
