Stone Restoration Class. Upon graduating from the class, attendees will have gained the knowledge of how to properly restore and maintain marble, stone, and tile.Braxton-Bragg has announced an expanded schedule of hands-on classes for 2014.

“We’ve doubled our class load for next year,” Corporate Trainer Kurt Alexander said. “We’ve gone up in all categories of the classes. We’ve added a new one — the stone restoration hands-on workshop featuring Bob Murrell of M3 Technologies.”

Upon graduating from the class, attendees will have gained the knowledge of how to properly restore and maintain marble, stone, and tile. Murrell, a 40-plus-year veteran of the natural stone industry, is well known for his expertise in the restoration and maintenance of natural stone, terrazzo, ceramic tile, and decorative concretes. “He’s been on board with that since it’s very beginning,” Alexander said. “We’re very luck to have him with us.”

In addition to its popular Superabrasive Lavina training, Braxton-Bragg is continuing its WerkMaster classes, and is offering a new open house class to introduce fabricators to the Fab King Work Center by inventor Rod York himself at his Knoxville workshop.

Braxton-Bragg has also expanded its Steve’s Polishing Pro System classes to three days and adding topics in current demand such as resin and dye detection and repair on granite surfaces.

“A huge portion of the granite we’re receiving in the U.S. now has been resined and dyed and a lot of fabricators have discovered when they try to put an edge on the slab, the color is not the same as the top,” Alexander said. “We’re going to teach our students to how to detect this and repair it.”

The classes will also include information on repairing glass countertops and items, which is a technique in growing demand in Europe in the stone industry that is expected to transition to U.S. Markets in the next year. “We’re trying to be ahead of the curve,” Alexander said.

Please note that Braxton-Bragg’s classes fill up quickly. In order for everyone to have the best experience and to be able to train properly, class size is limited to about 10 attendees to give adequate time to receive one-on-one training throughout the course. Training normally starts at 8:30 a.m. and goes to 5  p.m. with a lunch break in between.
