This Knoxville Habitat house is built with the very deserving Bussell family. Ruth Bussell is a single mom of three teen- agers – Nicholas (14), Diamond (16) and Boston (18), who is also coping with vari- ous medical challenges including diabetes and a blood clot that can lead to seizures. Despite her health issues, Ruth still works hard and loves her longtime job as a cer- tified nursing assistant at a local nursing home.
After experiencing numerous issues over the years as renters–from a ceiling collapse to a fire and then mold–Ruth and her fam- ily are so thankful for the opportunity to own their own home.
“Owningahomehasalwaysbeenadream to me,” said Bussell. “I am so thankful for the opportunity to partner with Knoxville Habitat for Humanity to make my dream
“Knoxville Habitat for Humanity is so grateful for Braxton-Bragg’s generous support, not only financially, but through their time and volunteering,” said Kristen Kaldenberg, Habitat for Humanity Donor Relations Manager. “As a team, they de- cided to dedicate their Saturday to help Ruth and her family in the construction of their home. It’s through these tangible experiences that we are able to share our mission and engage organizations like Braxton-Bragg in a meaningful way.”
“It was an honor and a privilege to help this deserving family achieve their dream of owning a house, in conjunction with Knoxville Habitat for Humanity and other communitymembers,”saidRickStimac, Braxton-Bragg CEO.
