Admittedly, OSHA’s regulations can be a bit tedious to wade through. If you want to look elsewhere, look no further than the National Stone Institute. NSI has sev- eral on-line courses you can take regarding this issue. There is Silica and Slab Safety, Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention, plus What is Crystalline Silica? And there are PPE courses as well. They also have a page dedicated to silica resources that includes OSHA Standards and fact sheets regarding silica and Silicosis: www.natural stoneinstitute.org/silica/ .
What does the future hold for engineered stone? Who knows? This ban in Australia may or may not open the flood gates to major changes worldwide. We will all just have to wait and see. Let’s just be safe while we wait.

“If by the liberty of the press were understood merely the liberty of discussing the propriety of public measures and political opinions, let us have as much of it as you please: But if it means the liberty of affronting, calumniating and defaming one another, I, for my part, own myself willing to part with my share of it.” —Benjamin Franklin
