New IMS Location in Switzerland Expands Global Distribution
Seeking to expand its global reach, IMS is opened a new distribution center in Ehrendingen, Switzerland on June 15, 2023.
In addition to a large state-of-the-art warehouse, the facilities will include both a sales and accounting office. These, along with a customer support unit, will expand international awareness and local product reach for its stone, metal and wood divisions.
The new store is the fourth international facility for IMS after locations in the United States, Czech Republic and Spain. The Ehrendingen warehouse, close to Zurich, is a key feature, due to the difficulties of exporting from Italy to Switzerland. Switzerland’s status as a non-EU country has been an obstacle for business operations, making the facility significant from a logistical point of view.
“IMS SWISS DISTRIBUTION SAGL is a very important step forward in the process of bringing IMS closer to its customers, because it breaks an invisible barrier between two neighbor countries that seem to be somehow always far from each other,” said Gabriele Galimberti, managing director of IMS Swiss distribution SAGL. “With this new Swiss company, the IMS group will continue to pursue its goal of expanding to the global market.”
“The Swiss center is the perfect addition to the IMS international portfolio,” said IMS USA CEO Emanuele Porro. “Adding to our presence in the global marketplace makes us better able to serve our customers.”
